Part 1 (SFR only): Staff officers discuss redeployment operations at Bremen, Germany. A German plane is inspected. German General von Kleist and General Dittmar are captured. German political prisoners are freed in Italy. Shows landmarks and wreckage in Berlin (May 3) and scenes of Russian occupation forces. Part 1 (CB Reel 1; SFR Part 2, Reel 2): General Montgomery reads the German surrender of Western troops at Luneberg, Germany (May 4). Admiral Friedeburg, Admiral Wagner, General Kinzel, General Poleck, and General Friedel sign the terms. The final surrender is signed at Reims, France on May 7 by General W.B. Smith, German General Jodl, General Sevez, and Russian General Sousloparov. General Eisenhower poses with General Tedder and announces the surrender. The ratification of surrender is signed on May 8 at Berlin by German General Keitel, Russian General Zhukov, General Tedder, French General de Lattre-Tassigny, and General Spaatz. Part 2 (CB only, Reel 2): General R.C. Richardson speaks on the German surrender. Part 3 (Reel 3, SFR only; duplicated in CB 57, part 5): Describes and demonstrates the T-66 rocket launcher and the 4.5 inch rocket. Part 3 (SFR Part 4): Indian infantry and paratroops travel to and capture Rangoon, Burma without opposition. Part 5 (SFR only; duplicated in CB 56, Part 6): The 129th Regiment advances toward and (Reel 4) shells Baguio on Luzon Island, P.I. A Japanese soldier is captured with a concealed grenade. Planes and 37th Division artillery and tanks shell the city. The 33rd and 37th Divisions enter rubbled Baguio (April 27). Part 4 (CB only): A fighter plane base on Iwo Jima is built and used. P-51's down enemy planes and escort a B-29 raid on Tokyo. Damaged bombers land and are repaired. Part 6 (CB Part 5, Reel 3): Describes captured Japanese weapons: field gun, anti-tank rifle, mortars, and rockets. Part 6 (SFR Part 7): The carrier "Franklin" is bombed. Shows many scenes of damage, fire fighting, and rescue work. The carriers arrives at Pearl Harbor and New York Harbor.
